Fluency Employee Spotlight: Jarred Baker

Here at Fluency, we pride ourselves on our people. After all, without them, we wouldn’t be nearly as innovative, savvy, and resourceful–so we asked them: Why Fluency? More specifically, what makes our employees proud to work at Fluency and what keeps them going?

Getting to Know Jarred Baker, Advertising Engineer

Meet Jarred Baker, Advertising Engineer here at Fluency. As an Advertising Engineer, Jarred works with every prospect and client that joins Fluency in the early stages of their automation journey. “Getting the opportunity to see their "A-HA" moments and the realization that Fluency will be eliminating a lot of their mundane repetitive tasks is super fulfilling,” he explains.

In his role, Jarred is on the ground floor solving the problems our clients face before adopting automation—and helps them realize their reality once they roll out our platform. “Every day is something different and unique as far as client problems and solutions,” he shares. “We have the ability to get really creative with our problem-solving skills and have been able to tackle most automation requests for clients in fun and simple ways.”

Jarred was one of our first employees—employee number seven—and sees a big difference between Fluency and other companies. “I am still amazed by how transparent our leadership team is every step of the way and that everyone at the company is a partial owner. Everyone that works at Fluency is additionally super motivated and easy to get along with. The fact that we have hired 50+ folks and continue to find incredible people to work with is amazing.”

Like any of our Fluency employees, Jarred celebrates work-life balance. When he’s not supporting our clients, Jarred is big on outdoor sports, such as snowboarding, running and biking. He’s pretty seasoned too—he’s been snowboarding for over 25 years, just ran his first ultra this summer (a 50k)—and signed up for a 50 miler next summer—and when he was 21, he biked from Oregon to New Jersey across the northern states of the U.S. No big deal!

Jarred also blends his passion for outdoor sports with community involvement. He currently uses his Fluency volunteer hours to dedicate his time with Oregon Adaptive Sports, where he maintains their bike fleet for their athletes.

We’re fortunate to have incredible people like Jarred on our team and are currently looking to grow our roster of dynamic and talented professionals. Are you ready to learn more about what it’s like being a Fluency team member? Browse our career page and apply for an open role.
