Fluency Employee Spotlight: Adam Hillier

Here at Fluency, we pride ourselves on our people. After all, without them, we wouldn’t be nearly as innovative, savvy and resourceful–so we asked them “why Fluency?” More specifically, what makes our employees proud to work at Fluency and what keeps them going.

Getting to know Adam Hillier: Talent Development Manager, SME

Meet Adam Hillier, Talent Development Manager, Subject Matter Expert (SME) here at Fluency. Adam joined our team in September 2019 after coming in for a demo of Fluency’s platform, which he recalls being “blown away by it.” He also remembers thinking “I don’t want to work anywhere else now that I know this technology exists. Luckily, the stars aligned and I became one of the first three System Engineers (now Advertising Engineers).”

When asked what Adam loves about working at Fluency he shared that he gets to work alongside our entire team, which is an incredibly unique experience. “I think it's incredible that, in my role, I get to work with pretty much everyone at Fluency. From a training perspective, I love that I get to talk to new hires and customers about how game-changing our platform is. And it's particularly cool when I witness them coming to that realization. You might be surprised at how often I hear people say "wow, I really wish I had this at my old job."

Another aspect of Fluency that sets his work experience apart is the culture. “There is a palpable feeling of positivity to a degree that is so rare in the professional world. In fact, I get the feeling that people outside of the company might think I'm exaggerating when I talk about it.”

When Adam isn’t leading our training efforts, he is spending most of his time with his son, who just turned five. Adam also loves skiing, soccer (mostly watching) and film photography. “I particularly love the mechanical feel of film cameras,” Adam shares. “In fact, I probably like the act of using them even more than I like the photos I get from them.” We thought this sentiment tied in perfectly with Adam’s role as a Talent Development Manager, since he’s responsible for conveying the functionality of our products and features.
