A core part of working here at Fluency is the opportunity to make a profound impact on virtually every aspect of our business—regardless of location. Spanning across 18 states—and counting—we’ve built quite the dynamic team and we want you to get to know them. That’s why we’ve created The Fluency Five, a five question blog series about what makes our employees special and what they love about working here.

Getting to know Leah Collette, Digital Advertising Strategist

1. What brought you to Fluency?: The amazing people, culture and technology are what really stood out about the company! I actually had the pleasure of working closely on the platform (in its newborn phase), with some really incredible former coworkers (including one of the founders). After continuing to hear all the positive feedback and seeing how Fluency continues to evolve, I was honored to get the opportunity to jump on board and witness it all first hand!

2. What’s something interesting about what you do at Fluency?: One of the great parts about working at Fluency, is that the management team is really committed to continued self development and growth. I was presented with the opportunity to participate in SQL training and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed both helping my team to build custom reports for our clients & to better understand how our data is structured. I also have a unique position here, that gives me the opportunity to communicate directly with clients, but also provides me more time behind the scenes, to help the account engineers with account/campaign setup, strategy, optimizations and troubleshooting.

3. In your opinion, what is the most interesting thing about Fluency?: For a remote company, there are many opportunities to connect with coworkers regularly. We even have a daily company wide meeting (which is often full of laughs) and it's a great way to see what other teams are working on. It’s been super refreshing to see that everyone's input is valued and feedback about new products or processes is more than welcomed. It’s amazing how quickly things get done around here!

4. Can you tell us something personal about you?: I was born and raised in New England, but due to our hate for cold, never-ending winters, my husband and I ended up moving south four years ago. When we are not traveling to visit with family and friends, we absolutely LOVE spending time outside… whether that includes exercise, concerts, sporting events, lawn games or just sitting (where I am most relaxed) by the water! I am obsessed with drinking coffee and love trying new food spots (especially donut shops). I really enjoy listening to music, crafting and planning events. And while I do plan to explore more of the world, there has never been a tropical vacation I didn’t love!

5. What are you most looking forward to this year in your role and/or at the company?: There is always an opportunity to learn new things here so I am looking forward to continued growth both personally and as a company. It’s incredible to see how fast the company is expanding even in just the six months since I joined the team and I am really excited to meet everyone in person soon. I also look forward to continued team collaboration and finding other ways I can support the team and client needs!
